(Wine and Roses is a versatile jazz and pop combo that relishes playing a broad range of twentieth-century classic tunes. They are perfectly at home with swing, Latin, rock and roll, and the blues. They particularly love songs with a melodyfrom Sinatra to Presley to Bublé.
The group is led by vocalist and instrumentalist, Allen Johnson, who can croon, swing, or waildepending on the song. He especially likes to have fun with his audience with friendly patter and a mischievous smile.
The combo is expertly grounded by Brian Swearingen at the piano, who is able to play anything upside-down or inside-out but always in the groove. The bass line, played by the consummate instrumentalist and arranger, Phil Simpson, drives the backbone of the group. The percussionistsdrummer Gary Stivers and conga player Joseph Rastovichare guaranteed to keep everyone in the house tapping their toes)
